Wenta was founded in 1983 to encourage business start-ups and to support small businesses. Wenta is now able to offer a variety of services including, business start-up advice and guidance, business training and development opportunities, business centre premises and education programmes.
Wenta is an independently funded not-for-profit organisation largely funded through the ownership and management of business centre premises. Wenta also run a number of contracts for public and private sector partner organisations that assist the funding of our advisory and education programmes.
Our business centre premises comprise workshops and offices with a combined space of over 100,000 square feet, let on monthly licence terms to small businesses. We also offer virtual office and mailbox services, business incubation and conference centre and meeting room facilities.
Wenta's education programmes regularly run events in local schools including our Beacon programmes which are designed to inspire enterprise in students. Our education team also manage STEP which supports undergraduate and graduate careers through the provision of paid work placements.
Our advisory team work in partnership with a variety of organisations to supply free business start-up workshops and tailored one-to-one advice. We are able to offer business support on topics including: starting a business, business planning and specialist advice on a range of subjects. Support for the unemployed is also available.
As the largest enterprise agency in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire our training and development courses cover a wide range of topics, including; business start-up courses, specialist tax and legal advice surgeries, business skills training and networking events.
Wenta also run six business incubation centres known as "My Incubator". Each centre provides start-up businesses with a unique offering of advice and workspace. For more information please visit our My Incubator website.
